Summer Tax Collection

Summer tax collection begins on July 1, 2025.

  • Tuesdays: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • September 15, 2025: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Winter Tax Collection

Winter tax collection begins December 1. The last day to pay at Township Hall is February 28, 2026. After that date, taxes may be paid at the Bay County Treasurer's Office.

  • Mondays: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • February 17, 2026: Last day before penalty tax hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Payment Options

To pay taxes by mail, make a check or money order payable to Garfield Township and mail it to:

To make your tax payment by preauthorized ACH, complete the ACH authorization form below with your banking information and signed approval, or call for a copy of the ACH Authorization Agreement. To process on time, return your form by January 1 to the tax office or email it to kasnyder1@outlook.com.

You may also place payment in the drop slot at the main entrance of the Township Hall.

Important Notices

If a receipt is required, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment.
No postmarks will be accepted after the date taxes are due. Interest will be owed if paid or received after the due date.
Debit and credit card payments are not accepted.

Summer deferred tax forms are available below or at the tax office. Dog licenses can be purchased at the vet or county building.
