Tax Collection Hours:

  • Summer in office tax collection begins on July 11, 2024. The last day to pay on time is September 16, 2024.
  • Summer tax collection hours:
    • Tuesdays – 9:00 am until 4:00 pm starting July 11 – Sept 16
    • September 16, 2024 – 9:00 am until 5:00 pm
  • Winter in office tax collection begins December 3, 2024. The last day to pay on time is February 14, 2025, at the Township Hall. Taxes will be collected at the township hall until February 28, 2025, with additional fees (please contact Treasurer for correct payment amount). Taxes may then be paid at the Bay County Treasurer's Office.
  • Winter tax collection hours:
    • Tuesday - 9:00 am until 4:00 pm starting December 3 – February 14, 2025 (except December 26 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
    • February 14, 2025 – 9:00 am until 5:00 pm

To pay taxes by mail, make a check or money order payable to Garfield Township and mail to Garfield Township Treasurer, 1138 W Erickson Rd, Linwood, MI 48634.

To make your tax payment by preauthorized ACH please fill out the preauthorized ACH authorization form on the Treasurers tab online with your banking information and signed approval at Garfieldtownship-bay.com, or call for a copy of the ACH Authorization Agreement

Want to save postage, place payment in the drop slot of the door at the main entrance of the Hall.

Deferred tax forms are available on the township website on the Treasurer’s tab.

If a receipt is required, please enclose a self-address stamped envelope with your payment.

NO POSTMARKS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DATE TAXES ARE DUE.  INTEREST WILL BE OWED IF PAID OR RECEIVED AFTER THE DUE DATE.
